Good Afternoon, It's Jason from Northwood, and this week we're In Your Street on Chiltern Way, Duston, covering the NN5 6 postcode area.
This is a particularly desirable area due to its range of homes - from flats to houses to bungalows - all not too far from the Town Centre and close to good schools.
I chose this area today to highlight a property we're renting out through our Guaranteed Rent scheme. The property is currently vacant, however as through the Guaranteed Rent scheme, the Landlords are still getting their monthly rental income - so it's a particularly good deal for them.
It's been particularly strong for viewings due to its close nature to the local school.
The most expensive property on Children was Number 186, which sold for 365,000 in 2022. In regards to the NN5 6 Postcode, the average price of detached homes is 360k, semi-detached homes are 266k, and terraced homes are 211k. Flats are 134k. These feel quite reasonable for such a nice area - so if you're looking to buy or sell in this area yo should be able to know exactly what you're looking for.
Like the street we viewed last week, the rental market is particularly buoyant, with 80% of residents being homeowners. So when a property comes up for rental, it is taken rather quickly. The average house can go for £1000pcm, with flats about £925. A nice three bedroom home could get you up to £1,200 and a 2 good bedroom flat can achieve £1000 with relative ease.
